Rimfire .22 rifle shooting
Rimfire shooting

“Rimfire” is a type of firearm shooting which owes its name to the type of cartridge used.  It is called a rimfire because instead of the firing pin of a gun striking the primer cap at the center of the base of the cartridge to ignite it (as in a centerfire cartridge), the pin strikes the base’s rim.

Due to the fact that rimfire rifles are classified as Firearms it is a legal requirement for owners of rimfire rifles to have a Firearms Certificate. Details of how to obtain a certificate can be found here.

Our club Rimfire riles shoot at the range of 25 yards which is standard UK distance for rimfire competitions.
